"THE FEW - The Women Who Flew The P-38"
By Larry Bledsoe
Soft Cover Book: $12.95
When The Women Officer Service Pilots (WASP) were
disbanded on 20th December, 1944 more than 1,000 women had graduated from that Pilot training program.
Before the WASP program began, the Ferry Command
started with 28 WAFS -now known as "The Originals".
At its peak there were over 300 WASP serving in the Ferry Command - of which only 26 flew Lockheed's famous P-38 Lightning fighter.
The Author - Larry Bledsoe - had met 5 of the wonderful
WASPs when doing the signing of Dan Kelly's "Young
and Invincible" print - and he had many questions in his
mind as to how the WASPs came about - this book
answers those questions.
