This beautiful print by Frank Wootton is one of his Classic images.
It is set in France in 1918 and shows Sopwith Camels and SE-5A's
preparing to go into battle on an early April Morning in France in 1918.

Merging the Royal Flying Corps and the Royal Navy Air Service in April of 1918, the British government created the first independent air force in the world, The Royal Air Force. Depicted here is a Sopwith Camel, several SE5As and two sky-borne Handley Page 0/400 bombers
